Teaching Practices
Procedures of your Teaching
Before starting my lesson, I ask the students to pray first. After that, I Check attendant of the class. We proceed with the motivation, it will help to warm up the students because they will be energized and won’t get sleepy. Before start the lesson We do an activity that will give them an idea of what will be our new lesson. Sometimes I use puzzles, “4 pics 4 group”. This is a great way to catch their attention and they will be interested in the topic. We start our lesson around 40 minutes and after discussion We do application it’s call dress me up is like small practice how to use equipment. And the last of period I give them a short quiz just to make sure that they have fully understood and absorbed the lesson.
Time Management and Organizing Strategy
One hour for one period is the best amount of time for a subject because it is neither too long nor too short. I don't have to rush to explain the material. During this period, I can provide activities, explain the material, and also give quizzes and check the answers right away. On the other hand, one hour doesn't feel too long, so the students don't get bored.
Classroom Management
Students at Mambusao National High School have their own designated classrooms, which allows them to be seated when I enter the room. They follow a seating arrangement that makes it easy for me to remember their names. I've also introduced seat signals for different situations during class. For instance, if they have questions or want to participate, they simply raise their hands and wait for my cue to answer. Additionally, there is a seat signal for personal needs, such as going to the restroom. This system allows them to excuse themselves without interrupting the class. Overall, they are easy to manage because they maintain a quiet environment, minimizing any unnecessary noise that could disturb others.
Problem-Solving while teaching and staying in the designated school
The first time I taught the class, I spent about 1 hour and 15 minutes, which exceeded the scheduled time. Because the PowerPoint I used had 55 slides, I took a lot of time during the explanation phase. Not wanting to repeat the same mistake in the next teaching opportunity, I tried to condense my PowerPoint and reduce discussing things outside the context of the material. This allowed me to finish on time.
